Mr. Rakesh Reddy, Director (United Forum for Right To Information) conveyed that Right to Information Act 2005 mandates timely response to citizen requests for government information. It also ensures greater transparency and accountability in the Indian Government and Public Utility Services. Further he also differentiated between fundamental rights and human rights of the human beings. During the interaction he told the villagers that Consumer awareness is making the consumer aware of their rights.
Mr. Reddy also helped the villagers in understanding awareness on the consumer forum, how to fill form for filing RTI. The villagers were overwhelmed by the way the speaker was pouring knowledge and information in their minds and lives.
This was something which the villagers never knew. Although they have rights they never enjoyed it. They were of the opinion that that the foundation has really mapped to help them out in many issues about which they had less knowledge or no knowledge.
On the last day of the program the villagers witness a visually challenged group performed both music show and dance on the Dias. The idea of the foundation was to motivate the villagers of all age groups that nothing is impossible for humans.
At the end of the program the villagers thanked all the sponsors and officials who have come to their village to provide help to them on the other hand the foundation thanked the villagers for providing complete support throughout these last five days which was like a huge festival in the village.
